Dallas Area69'er 02-22-2002, 08:36 AM Where are all the riders in Dallas hang at. Picking up my 02 today!!!!! EarlThePearl 02-22-2002, 09:11 AM Hey 69'er I have been wondering the same thing. I'm a little new to the Dallas Area as far as bikes are concerned. The best way to find out is to ask around your dealship. Talk to the mechanics and parts guys, they usually have the skinny. I hear on Saturday everbody rides around with their friends during the day in small groups. Then at night a bunch of guys meet somewhere near Northwest Highway (at a Whataburger I think) around 10PM.
I've also heard that on Tuesday nights bikes meet at the Blue Goose in Addison. I don't live too far from there. I think I might go check that out next week.
Lemme know if you hear anything and I'll do the same. 69'er 02-22-2002, 09:45 AM if your not far from addison your not to fr from me. I live in Frisco. we should hook up. Thanks for the info i will ask at the dealer today.:p EarlThePearl 02-22-2002, 09:52 AM Cool dude. I live in Carrollton. What dealership are you going through if you don't mind me asking? britt daveloco 03-06-2002, 01:34 PM hey guys,
any of you going to sonic tomorrow night?? (3/7) I think me and a buddy from work (f4i) will be heading up there.
drop me a line if ya want: daveloco@hotmail.com EarlThePearl 03-06-2002, 03:56 PM Hey Dave,
I wouldn't mind checking it out. Send me a private message. Weather looks good for tomorrow, other than the wind. Y2KRedR1 03-09-2002, 12:21 PM I know I'm a little late hittin' this thread, but I'm in the DFW area, too (Arlington). Up 'til January 6 I hit all the riding spots (Whataburger, Blue Goose, Sonic, etc.), but then I crashed & haven't been able to ride since.
I should be back in the saddle soon, so let me know if/when y'all meet up.
Thanks... EarlThePearl 03-11-2002, 10:08 AM Originally posted by Y2KRedR1

Idon't know of any places in Arlington, just in the Dallas area. The Saturday night meeting wouldn't be too far from you (Whataburger near the intersection of I-35 and Northwest Highway). Look for me at the next Sonic meet. I have a 2K Blue R1 with the license plate attached to the stock pipe.
FYI, I went to the Sonic meet with a friend of mine and Daveloco from the forum last Thursday. Had a blast. It was good to see so many bikes parked (I'd say around 30 maybe) and everybody just chillin'. Saw 69'er there sporting his new 2K2. Everybody was checking it out. Saw plenty of R1's there. I wanted to start telling everyone about R1-Forum.com, but I didn't want to look like an idiot, so I chilled out on that, given it was my first time being there. Once I go a few more times and make a few acquaintances, I'll start spreading the word. Daveloco was in full support mode, had his R1-Forum tee shirt on and everthing. :thumbup
And also, for those who have never been...BE CAREFUL riding in. The Garland police are well aware of this hangout. They lie in wait for you to do sometihng stupid anywhere near there (like doing 2 mph over the limit). I saw 3 seperate bikes get pulled over in 30 minutes; they hang around all night, waiting for the show to begin. A few of the hooligans get out on NW highway right in front of Sonic and start stunting. Then come the cruisers trying to chase them boys down. They didn't have much luck though. It was quite a show. | |
