Recently, my '01 R6 got stolen and I am thinking of stepping up to the plate and buying a used R1. However, I have noticed a sharp disparity in R1 prices in my area (Seattle, WA).
So, I would like to hear back from you guys about what a fair price to pay for a used R1 (any color) in good condition with 10k or less miles on it would be. A Yam salesman told me that the 98's have shitty transmissions, but he may have been just trying to sell me on the '02 model.
Also, I have a full set of blue/white plastics (including gauges, rear set, mirrors and head stem) for an R6 if anybody is interested.

It's true that the '98's had bad gearboxes. But that should be fixed on garantee.. if i'm not totally wrong.
I got a '98 but the gearbox is changed... because it broke down.. :D
Same with the '99 model. If you wanna go safe.. get the '00 or the '01.
