Coolant tank

I have to add coolant to the resevoir on my 04 R1 about every other ride. I have checked every hose, but found no leaks or any signs of leaks. My oil looks great and the bike runs awesome, so I'm not sure what else to check. I don't see any white smoke coming from the exhaust either. I give up. Where the hell is this coolant going to? Anyone else have a similar experience?

it is hidden between the engine/frame and your right rear brake reservoir

it is hidden between the engine/frame and your right rear brake reservoir I'm sure he knows where the coolant reservoir is since he's adding coolant in it every other ride as he stated.

A while ago I had the same problem. It wasn't noticeable when looking at the bike due to the leak being slow and where it was (didn't get a chance to directly fall via gravity to the ground etc). Mine was a hose clamp that needed tightening behind the right hand mid cowling where the radiator hose clamped onto a horizontal plastic tube looking thing (dunno what its officially called). This junction would of been flexed slightly when I unbolted the radiator and left everything else hanging when changing my spark plugs, i.e the method the factory service manual pimps. It took ~4 months for it to develop after changing my sparkplugs.....perhaps it was never tight enough in the first place or me flexing things while trying to get enough room to use the wrench on the plugs etc....

if not visible on the outside, then you might have a failing o-ring inside

Don't over fill the tank, if you do, it will spit it all out the overflow.
