~R1CrazyTex~ 11-29-2006, 03:48 PM I'm thinking of getting this one... I've got '03 LE version and I'll do the EXACT same paint job, as well as probably get some custom R1 logos done up. Out the door about $600 with a few cosmetics.
Anyone got pocket bikes? and how you like them? Anyone got THIS ONE???:rock :rock :rock

tomv12 12-02-2006, 10:32 AM It would look good in the LE trim.

marcaztls 12-02-2006, 12:52 PM Mate, in my opinion steer well clear of these. I used to race mini-motos (pocket bikes I think you guys call them) and actually became UK's South East Champion. If you want to get one, you need to spend a lot of money for a decent one. These aren't even a cheap laugh. They don't handle, don't go very well and will (and I guarantee that) break before you've even got bored of it. Which won't take very long.
They are basically an incredibly poorly made lawn-mower engined five second toy. I feel really strongly about these piles of crap. Can you tell?!? LOL

LOL I'm just looking forward to after Christmas when I get all the kiddies in asking me to fix, make faster, find a bin big enough, for these quick-money-making shiny doorstops.
I just hope they pay the poor sweatshop kids enough to stick-weld the frames together on these things.
I've got vertigo from standing on my soapbox now so...
Seriously, if anyone is after one of these, I'd recommend finding a Polini 911r REPLICA. They are a copy of one of the excellent all-time (in my opinion) proper mini-moto's, the Polini 911r. They can be found quite cheaply, not sure who makes them 'cos I'm not at work where I have the link but they're very well made, very quick and very reliable. They're of a standard good enough to race at a decent level, let alone thrash round a car park. :fact
~R1CrazyTex~ 12-03-2006, 08:46 AM thx for the info, I'm looking into it a little more. I wish I actually new someone around here that has one or that sells them.

I agree that the China made bikes are pretty much a waste of investment unless you don't mind wrenching on a constant basis. All the figures they post on these bikes are pretty bogus and the fairings are very poor quality plastic. I raced the China 4 strokes for one full season and just to make it race worthy the chassis was totally re-welded and strengthened. I raced the Euro made bikes ZPF204's and GRC RR's, for a season also and these bikes are well worth the money. A bit more but your gonna get your bang for buck. They are not slow, tons of go fast goodies, quality built, and FACKING fast for being so small. :thumbup Next season possibly be on a DM we'll see.
The 911 Replica is good but would recommend swapping the China cylinder for a Italian made Polini Series II top end kit. You will not be disappointed at all with this mod.
