This year I want to do more with my R1 like riding it at tracks. Unfortunately my friends don't :lol scared of ending up in a body bag or worse, like writing off your bike :D Seriously, i'm looking for people who want to go to the nurenburgring (germany) and who wouldn't mind me tagging along. I have zero experience at the nurenburgring so i will be exploring the track at first... -zen

I will probably go there but I don't know when. But I will for sure let everyone here know when I go so more people could join up.

I went there last year at Easter time, and apart from the fact it snowed it was great fun, and I will be there at the beginning of June this year again. But it is not like doing a track day and if you get it wrong...shudder. A friend of mine goes there all the time and has a bunch of videos to download if you can stand the download time:) Http://www.motorcycle-dk.com Ross

For your information, I do a lot of European track days each year with Byne up bike tours (and no, I do not work for them!) They get you bike back if you dump it too. They run months 'runs' from the UK to the ring. Worth a look! www.byrne-up.co.uk hope this helps?

Zen, I have a bud that lives in Bitburg, Germany. He's about 45 min from the "Ring" . I'm heading over there some time around the end of June from the UK. He has ridden on that track once and said it was friggin sick ! Porches and shit all in your ass and dont care if they run you off  Nonetheless, he said I must experience this madness 1st hand:eek:

yesterday , easter monday , TV moderator ADEBISI from the music - channel VIVA (like MTV) crashes his Aprilia on nürburgring. He is sliding 60 meters into a guard rail. So he has won a helicopter flight to hospital. He had to stay there 6 weeks (broken bones). So be careful if you want to ride the green hell !

Nurenburgring is Alright. I was in Germany 5 years and went there also. But it sucks and there are cars out there with you too. Plus the track is SO long (21 kilometers?) that its impossible to remember all the turns unless you always go there. Safety is an issue as well, as many people have said. If you lowside or something, there is no safety area, just a guardrail most of the time. For the price and fun that you can have its a good time, just be careful. My suggestion is if you are going to drive that far, why not drive a little farther and go to track days at Hockenhiem? (near Heidelburg/Mannheim). They alternate cars and bikes in the track and its a much better experience. You really get the feel of the track and can really open it up. Check it out, its well worth it. Last summer I was at a car show in Assen (Netherlands). They had track day there also. That is a sweet track! I didnt have my bike so I couldnt go, but wish I could have.
