While washing up the 05, I notice that I have a dust residue inside of the headlights lens. Anyone else have that problem? I have not looked into the issue yet, but if I remove the lens to clean them, might be a good time to install HID lights. Of coarse that's if I can't install new bulbs from outside the assembly like most autos.

I’m sure many of us do, but it isn’t that easy a fix, though it isn’t extremely hard either. To get access to the inside of the lens, the seal surrounding the assembly would need to be heated up with a heat gun or low temp oven. Once warmed up nicely you can then pull the assembly apart. After the cleaning you can then warm the sealant back up, add more if necessary, push the two parts back together making sure no air pockets are present and wait for it to harden. I’m just too lazy to go through all of that just to clean the inside of the lens off.
Corbin, it is unnecessary to pull apart the lenses to install new bulbs or an HID setup. It would be necessary to pull them apart for an Angel Eyes setup though.

Thanks for the input. I just haven't had the time to look at it. Now with Xmas over with I should be able to put some time into it. I think I will attemp to tear them apart and clean them up. I'm just to anal about stuff like that. HID's I will get coming. :rock

I know this threads a little dated but I have dust in my left headlight assembly under the projector in my 07. I started a new topic just minutes ago and this topic popped up under "related topics"
With mine tho there appears to be chips on the edges of the projector so I am "only assuming" that it is the dust and shards from those chips. I've spoken to a tech at the dealership and he "says" its a manufacturers defect so it is covered under warranty...
I think I'll actually ride my bike that way today and have him look at it that way I'll know for sure that it is replaceable under warranty or not.
