Hey guys, been lurking in the SuperMoto forum the last couple of weeks...lots of good info here.
I'm a long time R1 fanatic owning a few R1's thru out the years but I got to ride a friends motard down at The Gap last October. BIG mistake...I got hooked!!!:rock
Well last week I bought a (new to me) 2005 wr450 with 38 miles on it. This bike hasn't even been broken in yet. Still has the original gas in it from the dealership.:scared Need to dump the fuel and give the carb a good cleaning.
Here's a few pics,

There is some free / cheap power mods that you should do to the bike in case ya dont know..
GYTR AIS Kit w/ YZ Throttle Stop.
Cut Gray Wire.
Cut the Air Box windows out.
Removed the Air Box snorkle.

Thumpertalk / SupermotoJunkies are great sites. They've got a ton of info in there.
I'm going to with the wheel and brake conversion to start. My buddies bike has Marchesini's on his, and they are a work of art. Big bux thou. We shall see.
I'm sure Steve (launchzone) will help me out with fitment. And he's local for me as well. I've ridden with Steve a few times before at trackdays and at the Gap... he's a damn fast rider.
Not sure if its posted anywhere on here but there's a big motard gathering at the Gap for May 24. for anyone that is interested.
Well the expensive mods will have to wait for a while anyways as I barely scraped up the money for the bike.I'll just play with the free/ cheap mods for now.
Anyone have a set of wheels they want to part with in a month or 2???

You have to come to the R1 Forum Convention in June!! Me and Plimmer are going to have our Motards up there the whole week as well as a few others! It would be cool to have another one too!! We may go explore some fire roads sometime during the week at well as ride the heck out of the gap and eating up the R1's and R6's for lunch:D

Hey Tom, I have a nice set (my spoke set 3.5 / 5.0 with rains and rotors) that you can use for the trip in May at the Gap. All you need is a relocator bracket for the caliper or 4 piston caliper set up. We can switch wheels down there to compare feel. Im mounting a set of carbons. Welcome to our world:rock I too replaced my R1 with a WR450 and never looked back.:) I do missed the R1 sometimes though (skyway)

Hey Steve, thats great offering up your spare wheels for the gap trip. I'm really hoping to own a have a set by then, but if things don't work out you'll definitely be getting a call.
thanks,
Great pics.
