Hey guys, I have my 06 R1 in my buddies garage and there seems to be a broken water pipe on the opposite side of where the bike is stationed. My question is the water is not hitting the bike, it is not even close to it, but what has me worried is that it might bring humidity to the garage. Will this cause rust in any parts of the bike?

The chain would be my main concern...Why don't you guys just fix the Pipe???

so long as eveything metal is painted....plastic wont rust....grease the chain liberally and I'd say it would be fine.

The brake rotors will rust, but as long as you don't let it sit long, it will come off by itself from braking and won't leave pits.

Non of the engine parts will rust, like bolts and stuff???? Because I have a brake cleaner that does it well in taking of rust from them. And the chain in going to be replaced by a 520 conversion for the next track season. Say I do bring it up to my house will it be a problem if I don't started up for like about two months. Because I start it up now every four days do to the fact that it is cold here in new york>>>

Yah your right speed devil, but the thing that had me worried was the humidity that was in there. Thanks for the info..

My bike lives outside all year round. I cover it with a bike cover, ocassionally wash the bike with cold, then spray the whole bike with ACF-50 (Google it). No rust.
