hey guys, just hoping for some feedback on tires. i am almost ready for new tires on my 05 r1. it has michelin power race tires on it now and i don't really need race tires. hoping for something to get a few more miles out of and will stick well in corners, seems most bike shops carry the pilot powers and they seem to be a popular choice, your thoughts???

I like Dunlop Qualifiers the best, but it's really hard to get them these days. Michy's it is.

Ok well I have run about ever new tire out there. I won't run dunflops ever again. the new pilot power CT is a great choice. For those that have to the stick in the corner but the tread life of the harder tire. You should look into those tires.

get the new pilot powers that just came out, they are dual compound which will last longer but still give you good traction

I used to run Powers on the streets, Ihave 4 sets of Michelin PilotRace tires I need to use up and I'm going to try them on the streets when it warms up here. I know they will wear fast I'm just worried about them staying warm enough on the street to stick. I personally would like to hear more imput about race tires on the street.

I run pirelli diablo corsas and i love them. great traction and last longer than harder tires for me because they aren't spinning as much.

I ran dot race tires on the street and they were awsome! Once they get warm they will stay warm. I road them in the rain and was surprised how well they gripped. They were dunlop sportmax GP's. They turnes in really quick also. Very neutral stearing as well. I would trow it in a corner and it held it's angle with out me having to fight it.

Well its good to hear that some of the race sets are ok on the street. i have 4 sets of pilotRace tires I need to use up with prob 85% down the middle and 50% on the sides, Wanted to use them on the street but herd that wasn't the thing to do.???? Well if not we are going to have one hell of a stunt burnout session at my place.

How many miles did you get on your Pilot Races? I plan to run them soon (for track days and canyon riding) and was just curious about the mileage. I ran Pilot Powers before and they were slipping a bit at the California Speedway during a track day there. Thanks.

Never really kept milage on them, They lasted a hell of a long time though, I just pulled them when the edjes were not hooking as well as I liked, I rode the PilotPowers on the track too but the race tires were a million times better after switching, I also went from a 190/50 to a 190/55 also. . .Just my .02 cents. I'm just worried about the MichelinPilotRace tires hooking that well on the street, I'm going to give it a shot though, because I have so many damn sets of them I just don't want to throw out, but I have no use for except giving them to my friends for stunting, and a great burnout show. I just dont want to end up on my ass because I was cheap for rubber. :scoots::boom Goes for women two, it always bites u in the ass, but I may be mistaken those are latex, but called rubbers LMAO:eek:
