i had some battery issues with my bike. friends wanted to go for a ride so i switched out batteries. started fine first couple of times. then once we got out of town some wouldnt start had to push start it. and battery was leaking acid, it is one of those autozone batterys and not oem. came home put bike on battery tender. charged it up and started fine. next day tried to start it and havent been able to get it started since. i have tried everything i have read on here but nothing works. everything comes on and bike attempts to start just wont turn all the way over. tonight i am going to try charging old battery just incase new one is defective and just cant produce enough juice to start it. if that doesnt work im going to pull the plugs on sunday and test them. anyone have any other quick advise on what might be wrong. i am taking my time fixing it cause i have mcm exhaust and the acid dripped on it, so it is at the powder coaters.

as a general rule, dont use a battery thats leaking acid. Id start with a new OEM battery and go from there

battery you have doesnt have power to run bike. start with correct battery and make sure Regulator and rectifier is working and plug on it is good to go.(read sticky in this forum)

that is the step i am going to try after i try the original again. my original battery i believe died due to the cold weather and not be able to ride it. so i am going to attempt to charge it first. oh and just so you know the battery didnt start leaking untill we were out on the road and when i noticed the problems i headed to the house. i didnt just blow it off and keep on going.

lotsa battery have that problem. not so much sealed ones, but it does happen. makes mess out everything. use slow charge on your battery and make sure you dont overcharge it. i have killed couple forgetting them on slow charge for few days and cooked them till they imploded inside and swelled up.

If your stator goes out your battery will die and not recharge. Check that.
