Ok, so about 3 months ago while it was still riding season I changed my oil and over tightened my oil drain bolt, thus, stripping the threading inside the pan. I found a member on here who had an oil pan for me and bought it. Here's the problem....
I replaced the pan, gasket and tightened everything down, but I cannot get it to stop dripping oil! It's beginning to frustrate me because I've replaced the gasket twice now thinking I overtightened it or broke the gasket but nope. I called the service manager at my dealership and he said to make sure and put everything together completely dry. As far as I know I have done that and it still leaks.
Any suggestions, tips or words of advice? I know I can take it to the dealership if all else fails, but thats way overpriced and I consider myself to be fairly proficient with tools and such.
I ordered a new gasket and an o-ring and am going to try that one more time, but I'm ready to pull my hair out if it doesnt work.
Thanks in advance,
