Acceleration Problem

I don't know if it's just me but when I accelerate hard and go pretty hard in the RPM's it seems like the clutch slips so I let off the gas straight away, kinda freaks me out, I would prefer to get an EXPERIANCED rider to ride my bike and see what they think but I know nobody around here yet

You'll probably see them shoot up. If not, you've got other problems. No reason to get an experienced rider to do it as any idiot can look at the tach:) Mark 99 R1 ps If it is your clutch, send me a pm. I've done a few and can give you a few of pointers if you do it yourself.

Ok I will check it out tomorrow, what else could it possibly be if not the clutch?

I noticed this when I changed to CRG levers. I had to adjust the clutch play. It wasn't releasing all the way. I think very dirty oil can do it as well.

Ok I haven't had time to get on here of late as I've been working days and nights. When I throttle hard I see the RPM's shoot way high, I tried adjusting my clutch a little but then the bike was pulling with the clutch pulled in! Could it be my clutch plates or the springs maybe? I have no idea about bike motors so any advice would be good.

heres quick little test for clutches. maximum slippage occurs in higher gears.. more load on clutch up there. take bike out rolling about 20mph in 4th or 5th gear. grab clutch, pull it in, rev bike up to about 10k rpms and dump clutch. rpms should drop immediately and clutches lock up. if rpms stay up and come down slowly or dont come down at all.. its clutch plates. replace fibers and steels. add some good springs to help clutch life.

Ok I will give that a try, I have the problems in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear generally not in the higher gears through, for example, when I roll onto the freeway I hammer it and thats when it happens.

I thought the same thing at first, but then I realized it was my rear tire losing traction.

I don't believe my back tire spins, not that I know of anyhow, I will ask a friend to come on a ride with me to check.

your clutches are through. replace them and the steels.

What type of oil are you using?? How long have you had the bike? You might not have enough slak in the clutch cable
