What is the Normal operating temp.

Hello everyone , I am a new R1 owner. Just got my 01 R1 in excelent condition with 7000 mile on it. Here it the question What should the normal operating temp be while running down the high way at 50-60 mph. My bike only reaches 145-150 deg on a cool day while running down the highway, I would expect to see 170-180. What is normal? Could I have a t-stat that is stuck open? Thanks for any help

Thanks for any help Sounds about right. On a cold day(30-40F), mine will run about 140-150. Normal summertime temps are 180ish. Mark 99 R1

does the bike have a full system? They run cooler with a full system than with the stock EXUP system in place.

Thanks for the info. The bike is completly stock, I was just concerned it was running too cold.

Mine runs about the same too.
