Just an FYI post for anyone in the UK thinking of replacing the stock exhaust internals with racing baffles. Following the other thread in this section related to it I came across http://www.aandrmufflers.com which do these ready made for only $95 (£60) I was a bit worried about cutting up my stock cans so I went in search of 'spares' in case I messed up and found that PDM Racing have got 04-06 end cans for £35 each - they came yesterday and are brand new, in perfect condition. If you want to do this mod, but want to take your time and have a fall back position, £70 is a good deal...... There web site is http://www.pdmracing.co.uk Happy drilling and cutting! :secret:

Hey clowrie did you install these baffels yet as I to have an 06 R1 and was thinking of purchasing them. Was the install flawless and a perfect fit as they claim it to be ??? and how does it sound ???? one more ... did you dyno the bike before and after and if you did did you see a HP gain ??????? Thanks in advance

Hi When they came to me they were held by the post office as there was £8 of custom duty to pay. Picked them up last week and fitted the baffles at the weekend - they fit perfectly and are not too difficult to do. Hardest part is breaking the spot welds. I drilled mine and then used a flat file to square of the holes and fully break each weld. Then got a pair of grips and held on to the old baffle end for dear live and hit the grips with a hammer. Sounds brutal, but all done with no damage to sleaves. I am not going to have it dynoed beforehand as the thing already has enough HP, just sounds a little muted. If they sound anywhere near as good as they do on the video clip I'll be well happy. Plan to fit them this weekend so I'll let you know. All the best Chris

Installed over the weekend and they sound great - well worth the time to do. Fitting was a piece of cake and whilst I had them off, I also took the time to remove the Cat Convertor in the join pipe. Again, really simple, just set about it with a screwdriver and kept on until all the honeycombs broke and fell out. It's the cheapest exhaust mod I have ever done and the most satisfying because 1. I did it; and 2. it retains the original look which I like.
