Took bike into the shop for a swingarm replacement. While there I had him put in a new battery. Now the low beams quit working. WTH? he pulled switch apart and tested it . Said it was getting power so it must be a connection? Any idea where to start? The highs work fine.

I know its a silly question but have you checked the bulbs

On all '98 &'99 models (Euro & USA) there are two relays situated between the headlights. One is for high beam and the other for low. If the switch has power I would check the connections from the switch to the relays then headlights. If the relays are identical try swapping them over.

I didn't check bulbs, however I just switched them out like a month ago. It would be odd for them both to burn out but definately worth checking. As far as the relays I will look into that as well. I hope something just got jarred loose while he was working on the bike.

Did you touch the glass bulbs with your fingers when you put the new ones in? This can cause them to burn out pretty fast if you got oil from your skin on them. Might be the relay too like William said.

I actually took caution and used a paper towel when I installed them. I will mess with it in the AM to see what is going on.
