I have an 05 R1. While riding at night my headlight kept going on and off. I recieved a tip from this website to check the quick connector under the right air duct. That was my problem. The black wire in the connector was shorting out. I went to the dealer and told him about the short. He called Yamaha and they said just to cut the wire and by-pass the connector. So that is what I did. I have put several miles on the bike since the repair and the problem seems to be fixed. I even rode in the rain and had no problems. Just wanted to post this in case somebody else runs into the same problem.
