I have read somewhere that the stock rear shock on the '06 model was improved over the '04/'05 one. Is there any truth in this and if so are the differences significant enough to warrant obtaining an one to swap out for an '04 one?

I agree about the Ohlins but unfortunately cant afford that sort of money. Thinking I may go for a revalve on the standard shock instead. Incidently I have checked out the part numbers on Yamaha online and the '06 rear shoch does have a different part number to the '04 / '05.

I have the shock for sale from my '06. Saw exactly 3/10th's of a mile before it came out. The valving on it is different from the '04-05 and the spring is stiffer.
