I Now Have 3500 Miles On My 06 R1. I Want To Go -1 Front And +1 On The Rear. My Question Is Can I Use A Chain With 3500 Mi. On New Sprockets Without Any Problems Or Do I Need A New Chain Also?

If not and you replace the chain, might as well go with a 520 conversion. 1longR1 01-18-2007, 02:18 PM most people will tell you to get new chain. old chain will wear new sprockets faster. but if you have taken good care of your chain.. then its worth a shot. kangaroo 01-21-2007, 12:12 AM measure the chain and then compare with the service manual and see how stretched it got. or just put it next to a new one and see. I had a 900 rr rear sprocket that had 15k miles on it and the sprocket was good as new and it was even measured and lost very little. | |
