Has anyone run into the problem of having the TC mount for the Scotts damper not fit flush? Scotts say in their directions that some "filing" of the triple tree or TC mount may be necessary. I'm cool with drilling my frame, but a little hesitant about taking a die grinder to my triple trees. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You shouldn't have to file anything.

pics would help, but i would grind the mount before the frame.
post up pics when you get it done. I have a scotts from my old bike, but Im still up in the air about drilling to mount it.

You have to drill the frame regardless. BUT you should NOT have to grind anything at all for proper fitment. Call Scott's if you are having a problem.

I like scotts ,but thats the reason i went with Hyperpro on the 04, no drilling.....Is it to late to return or exchange it.....Just a thought..

Hey guys thanks for the input, I finally just called scotts and as luck would have it, I had the wrong mount kit. They checked part #'s and I actually had a mount kit for an R6. Scotts customer service is excellent, they exhanged my mount kit free of charge and very timely I must add. I'm up and running good now. I'm just thankful I didn't drill anything before I figured all this out.
Thanks again. Big J.

Does the GPR damper also require drilling into the frame? I am not willing to drill into my frame.
