Possible clutch Noises

I have a 2000 R1. I was comming to a stop at a stop light the other day. I shifted from 1st into netural. Just as I was letting off the clutch I felt and heard a soft rubbing sound. It seemed to be comming from the left side by the transmission. When I pulled on the clutch it went away. Is this a normal sound on the R1? This is my first Yamaha!

clutch is on the right side. might be the chain? :dunno

I know the clutch is on the right side. If you read properly I said when I was stopped. So its not the chain. Its more like when I shift into netural there is a noise and like a vibration comming from the left side or engine. Maybe because I took the load off the engine. My suzuki never did this, donno if its just the R1.
