Toronto Area Ride

How many riders from the Toronto area could show up? I was thinking of meeting up somewhere easy, like the first gas bar north of the 401 on the 400(BK) and going for a ride from there. Any takers for an R1 rip around north of Toronto? The time frame could be showing up around lunch sometime this summer, and deciding from there.:rock

What do you guys say we choose a central meeting point seeing that we are all scattered across the G.T.A. I live in the east side of Scarborough near the Metro Zoo. Somewhere off the HWY#400 and north of 401 works for me. Post your thoughts so we can have this planned in advance and avoid any delays and confusion. Can't wait! I hope you guys can show me those northern roads that everyone talks about. HWY#507, 169, 118. I feel the need to explore. Thanks

Ok so it sounds like June 9th is the day. Why don't we meet at the Wendys on the 400 then head North for the day. I like SikR1's idea. I rode the 118 last Sunday its sand free and as sweet as ever. Jimsab where are you coming from? This is going to be a great ride!!:thumbup

Ok fellas lets finalize this. Sunday June 9th at the first Wendys/Tim Hortons on the #400 north of the #401. We take off for 9:00 am so be there a little earlier. Is this ok for everyone? Whoever knows the way to the twisties can lead. There will probably be just over 15 people. It's going to be an awesome ride/gathering.

I will be in Haliburton. It will be easer for me if I met the group further north. Can we make a second meeting place closer to me. If not I will have to be up at 6:30am:confused: If not I will try to make it to Tims (how far north of T.O. is it).:thumbup

Jimsab if you want to meet me in Orillia we can ride down together. Its a bit of a ride down to meet up with everyone but it will be worth it to see all those sexy R1s pulling out of wendys together. That will turn some head for sure. Do you live in Haliburton? If so I couldn't be more jealous, beautiful area and some of the best roads around. Anyone else coming from the north?

If there is a location a little more central for everyone off of the #400 please post? What about Barrie? I just want to make this easy for everyone. If majority of the riders will be from Toronto then the original meeting place is good.

OK, how about the Macdonalds on the 400 south, just past Molson park dr. in Barrie. That would save some time for sure. Its right off the highway so it will be easy to find and we can just head north from there. What time is good to meet 9 - 9:30? All in favor? Jimsab my house is in Orillia so why dont we just meet at 8:30-8:45 and ride to barrie. Just take the West st exit and turn left I'll meet you at the Tim Hortons and we'll jump back on the highway.

Ok then has everyone agreed on Sun. June 9th? Are we meeting at the McDonalds south of Molson Pk Dr. in Barrie on the #400 south, or the first Wendy/Tims on the #400 north of #401? Is 9:00 am the meeting time? How many people are coming out? It's only a month away guys/girls so I want this to be settled. Please post your answers!

There will be at least two, I will be on my blue 2001 R1 and the other guy will be riding a 2002 GSXR 1000. (he had to buy somthing faster then my bike).:rock

OK, if we're meeting at the wendys then you had better meet me about 15 minutes earlier Jimsab. I think that this ride will take the better part of the day. probably wrap up mid afternoon. We'll ride for a few hours, grab some lunch, a couple more hours and then call it a day and head for home. Does this sound good to everyone? It will still take you TO guys an hour ride to get home anyway. Lucky bastards!!

Is there two Tim Hortion and Wendy's on the 400???? I think there is one on the east side and one on the west side???? Which one are you guys meeting at???? It sounds like the one on the east side, heading north....... That means that the guys coming south will have to pass the Tim Hortons and Wendy's, exit the highway and get back on heading north to get to the Tims/wendy's on the east side. Is this right???? Is there anyone that knows the area a little better????? :jump

I know it will be the first Tim's/Wendy's going North of #401 on the #400. So yes it will be on the east side. 9:00 am meet time. Bring your cameras!

Sunday was a great ride! I'm ready to go again any sunday. It was cool to meet everyone and spend the day riding. I got home and checked my odometer, I rolled over 40,000km yesterday! ouch! One thing I know for sure.... there is no gas station in Tory Hill.:no

No there isn't - but there is one 11 km east in the middle of nowhere; go figure!:eek:

It was a BLAST :D Thanks to all you guys for the ride. Maybe I'll keep up with all of you next time on those twisties ;)

I hope you guys all had a good time. It sounded like a blast!!!! How many people came out? I didn't make it because I got a smoking pair of Formula 1 tickets in Montreal for free and I couldn't pass up that oportunity!!!! I hope we can organize another ride very soon and by the picture it seems like I would have been the only red R1.

Guys the picture looks great I had the mother in law come over! Put a damper on the whole day... When's the next meet and where is it exactly I'm off the 400 and Rutherford.
