I bought a 05 R1 last year...2000 miles on it. Its still winter here but spring is just around the corner...I hope anyway..
I wanna know what would you do to get it ready to ride this spring.....must do's, recomendations, suggestions.....anything will help... I am gonna do simple stuff of course, change the oil and filter, change the spark plugs...what else should I look at or change, adjust, replace...this is my first sport bike. I had a ton of fun last summer, it has right about 6000 miles on it now...so let me know your suggestions...
thanks in advance..

Not according to Punxsatawney Phil. :fact
If you put fuel stabilizer in your tank then aside from what you mentioned, the only other thing is to lube the chain. If you didn't use fuel stabilizer, drain the tank and fill with fresh fuel... and hope it didn't varnish. You can mix the old fuel 50/50 with fresh fuel and use it in your lawn mower.

Take the time this winter to set up your suspension if you haven't already done it. You'll appreciate the difference after setting the sag.
Also, check tire pressure. If the bike is not on stands, roll it to move the tires especially if it has been sitting for some time.

I have a stand for the rear tire...I have started it once or twice a month since I parked it...and until the snow hit I still rode it on nice days...We had a day that was in the low sixtys in december and the roads were clear so I took it for a short ride around town...
Thanks for the info...wasnt sure if there was somethin I was supposed to check that wasnt aware of....
