03 R1 not making power?

So last year I had my R1 dyno'd at the beginning and the end of the season. I made a 130whp w/ K&N filter, devil shot gun spli-on, PC3r w/ unknown map. Over the summer, I did .... New plugs (NGK CR9E)*** Cleaned K&N filter Ram-air box mod Hindle Race system (Full system) Downloaded/Loaded Hindle race map from dynojet Custom velocity stacks**** W/ that setup I made 126whp !! The mechanic running the dyno suggested I remove the custom velocity stacks because i didnt know wtf i was doing and also to properply mount the airbox.......he stuck a finger under the tank and pushed up on the airbox and it popped right off!!! I have since fixed the airbox/velocity stacks issue but I **KNOW** the bike is not running right because a friend of mine w/ an 03r1 has the same mods except for a BMC race filter and now HE pulls ME wheras before, I pulled him! He suggest I used the wrong plugs....I didnt use the specified CR9E-IX but only CR9E as told to by the shop i bought the plugs from. Would they make THAT much of a difference? The dyno graph was very smooth/constant. I'm thinking to just drop the bike off at a tuners this summer to figure it out. At this point I'd be happy to make 130~135hp. 140 would be a bonus.

No, plugs are not problem. the Cr9e is single electrode plug. the cr9e-IX has iridium tip..both plugs same heat range. you should look at A/F ratio on dyno. even try putting stock filter back in it and see it that helps. i would guess bike is possible on lean side. dont sweat it about plugs.. i run cr9e as well.

Custom velocity stacks**** What exactly are custom velocity stacks? Did you make them yourself? I have an 02, with a K&N, Devil Shotgun Slipon, and a PCIII, with base map. I've got the Graves Velocity Stacks but havent put them on yet. I was going to do a before and after dyno run in a few weeks to see if they really did much. Do you think that the stacks are a bad idea?:dunno

Do you think that the stacks are a bad idea?:dunno No, but the proof of the pudding will be your before and after Dyno runs.:thumbup

I should really take a pic of them, essentially i got a 1.5 -> 1.25" rubber pipe coupler (avail @ ur local home depot etc.), cut them down to size and then dremeled the edge inside smooth and slapped em into the airbox. Stupid/make-shift i know, and i guess it was paychii that led me to beleive they worked....

No, but the proof of the pudding will be your before and after Dyno runs.:thumbup I'll be sure to post them up for you guys when (if) I finally get over there. Try and get some definitive answers on this debate once and for all....I'll be sure to get the runs on the same day to rule out any extra variables...

Subscribed... I'd take the homemade stacks off mate. You have to do a very good job or disturbing the airflow will only hurt power. I run stacks on mine, although it's quite heavily modded now. But before that, the stacks made a noticeable difference to midrange :)

Ugh; so just an update....the bike is still very much down on power this season as well. Last night on a highway roll on with my friends 03 R1 with similiar mods he pulled away 3-4 bikes on me......what a piss off. Question: I run full synthetic AMSOIL in my bike....would this be causing an issue with the clutch at all perhaps slipping?
