I have a stock 2006 R1 and I weigh 182 lbs. If stock settings were where they are supposed to be, to properly set the sag, I went 2 turns in on the forks and went 3 clicks anti-clockwise on the damper. I was hoping to get some opinions from people who have done this more than me!

Second, look at the sticky for suspension settings

Everybody rides differently. It's easier if you ask what you want your bike to do better or why it needs improvement now. if you can't tell the difference. Start clicking away and write down the changes in the bike's behavior for each adjustment. You'll then find your settings. Don't use generic settings. they are good to only use as a starting point.

Follow this thread. I posted up an explaination on the SAG settings. I also enclosed a zip file with an excel spreadsheet that will do the math for you. You just need to take the measurements.

I know the thread is about tires...but it's in there....

What is your static sag set to? I measured mine (the best I could by myself) and measured 1" in the rear and 3/4" in the front. I have a friend coming over tonight to help me double check my measurements. I think I want more in the front if I'm not mistaken.
