1999 model - Best jetting with STOCK exhaust?

What is the best Jet/Carb setup for an otherwise STOCK bike? I'm in the process of bringing a '99 model R1 back to life. It is equipped with an Akro slip-on at the moment, but I'm going to put the stock system on it to make it as quiet as possible. I need to clean the carbs anyway, so while I have it apart, I was going to put the stock jetting back in the carbs, but I was wondering...Are the stock jets best for my needs?? I know a lot of Hondas come very lean from the factory and they benefit from richer jetting even without changing any part of the exhaust. Is there anyone here that can shed some light on this subject for me? Thanks in advance, Alan.

ya, you want a jet kit for sure. stock jetting is never what is best & with a jet kit you also get adjustability so you can fine tune. even though the guy is a fat head dick, Ivan probably has the best kit but that'll run you over 100.00 (I think, I haven't checked) or I think I have a factory pro kit you can have for 50.00

Does anyone have any SPECIFIC knowledge on this subject? Like WHAT size jets and carb settings to use?

Does anyone have any SPECIFIC knowledge on this subject? Like WHAT size jets and carb settings to use? Start out with a 132.5 main 120 pilot adjustable neddles from Ivans or fac pro. 3 turns out on the mixture screws Then just do some tuning to get it right.

Another good info source is Mark at factory pro. Then it just comes down to tuning.
