Removing Stock Mufflers....stap71 02-12-2007, 08:29 PM I was just wondering if I removed the stock mufflers and put on straight pipes would I effect the tune of the bike or would it be ok. I just took them off for other reasons and decided to fire it up and it sounded BAAAAAD!!!!

yes, you'll lose back pressure which means a loss of torque. Also you'll probably get the cops on you pretty quick. Better for you to race baffle the stock exhaust. Your bike will also run more lean. All of this can be dialled out by getting a power commander to optimize exhaust and intake flow. | |
