Canadian Squad?

Alright, I think it's time for a Canadian Squad:fact Would be cool if we could get our shit together and design a logo. I like Nubians/Lighting r1 design w/dragon and tuneforks How about incorp. a Canadian flag there to show our origins? Will they have an R1-Forum.com convention in Canada? I would not mind maybe visiting up north for that! We (East Coast) are doing Deals Gap, NC in May! Let me know how you make out with logo also! Im sure Nubian will help! D

Me and Motaboy are in. Design away, I lack photo shop. The flag idea is good, but that maple leaf looks so warm and cuddly.. I want a design that strikes fear into little kids riding in station wagons, "Mom what does that mean"? never mind sit down and look away. ;)

You guys may have to do an "all Canada" squadron.... there are only 8 guys representing Canada total... I've updated the Squadron assignments post.

hEY RoG'Z thats exactly the design I'm having painted on a helmet right now. I'll post some pics as soonas I get it back. I love the idea of meeting at the Parry Sound Sportbike Rally, especially since I'm going to be there anyway. There are some great roads around there and actually I ran into forum members there last year. I can picture it now, rows of R1's parading through downtown parry sound on their rear tire. maybe we can meet at the Wendys like last years ride and all roll up north together. Whatever the plan I'm in!

Hey Sawboy Parry Sound Rally is the place to be. I have attended for tha last 12 years. We should all hook up there next year. We camp at the very back directly behind the hall ( beside the bandshell). Twisty roads, lots of sportbikes, and Canadian beer!! I urge all of you to make the trip, you wont be sorry P.S. You have to ride there - Trailer queens are frowned upon It is a motorcycle rally after all!!

Ok I made something, it's totally different from the ideas given, but it's a start. It doesn't have the Maple Leaf yet or bla bla bla but it's just a beginning. If the concept is good, we can work from there. I didn't want to spend too much time on this in case it was heading in the wrong direction from the start. Well let me know.

Hey guys, don't forget to incorporate R1-101 into your graghic designs. I really like Kuhn's and Sex-C_R1 designs, could you combine your two designs together somehow? I have an idea can someone post up a pic of the yami tuning forks and another image of the canadian flag? Please make them hi res good quality.

OK after doing some quick searches I found some. Now here is a quick idea, now give me your honest input here you wont hurt my feelings but at the same time give me some ideas too so I can maybe see what direction your going. I like plain, simple right to the point logos. These are simple, and easy to transfer to vinyl stickers. Here you go..... http://www.northernanimation.com/photogallery/canada/squad4.jpg I got the writing from tricktape.com and it was called Yamaha kanji so I'm assuming it says Yamaha in Japanese. The only hard part of using the shadowed image would be transferring it to vinyl stickers if you guys wanted to use them on your bikes. I'm still thinking up more ideas. Squamish R1 your idea sounds good, but its hard to read the letters at that angle. Cuz the letters that would be in the back get so small its hard to read. Plus with so much writing its really long too. And I agree the USA flag is tough! HAHAHA

That design would still work as a decal. We could just make it white instead of red with R1 forum.com underneath it. what do you guys think? I dont really want to put a red decal on my blue bike anyway.

You could make it any color you wanted and the point will get across, yami and canada. :D I am researching another design at the moment too.

I think it would look best if the middle (forks) was cut out so whatever color your bike is will show through. So if you had silver make the sticker black. White for a blue or red bike, or you can fill in the forks with whatever you wanted. Get my point?

It's no big deal to book a date with Shannon(ville):) . Just need a deposit (half) on time of booking and rest on show up date. For Nelson $1900, Fabi $2100 and $3300 for Long track plus GST. So 20 R1's you can ride either on nelson or fabi for $100 bucks all day long.

Hey guys just wanted to let you know that I booked 4 rooms for the Parry Sound sportbike rally. There were vacancies but they said that they are filling up fast. RoadHogg I'm staying at a hotel called Trappers. Its right beside the Mall and a restaurant. $85 per night for 2 guys in each room. I camped last year and had fun but I'm looking forward to sleeping in a bed and having a shower in the morning.:yesnod I have the # for the motel at work if anyone wants it email me. It would be cool if a bunch of us could stay at the same place. Its a small one storey building so everyone can park their bikes right in front of their room. I like that. Yamahuh I like the sound of that logo. I wish that I had the skills to create something like that. Ya gotta camp the sportbike rally guys!! Drink beer without having to worry about riding home, sit around the campfire and benchrace, wake up in the morning & head up the road for a swim / bath at the beach. Great stuff. As for the logo, I've no idea how to go about doing that kinda stuff ..

The day events at Parry sound are excellent ..I'm going for sure..But do you realize how much fun you're gonna miss by not camping it? i'm not trying to sound like some die hard camping freak here, but when the sun goes down the burnout competitions begin..the OSR group from London was jumping mini bikes over a huge fire last year..There's a comedian in the main hall on Sat night..plus the fact you can have a few wobbly pops and not worry about the cops!!

Sounds good, but after working all week a nice bed and shower + A/C sounds good to me.. I am booked at Trappers also

I will also make the ride up to Parry sound with a group from my home town. Speaking of Shannonville I am taking my phase 1 in May!!! I can't wait

I can't help it I like them all.:crash The redline idea does seem a bit more hardcore though. maybe we can incorporate the 2. If they don't start sweeping the roads maybe we could be the sandriders. My street looks like a beach.

I finally spent a brownie point with my computer geek wife and...voila! We still need a name (Igloo Dwellers... LOL) By the way, that's R1 blue and red in the design, which keeps the number of colours to a minimum if we want to make it into a patch.

How about using this as the gauge??? And someone can put a red maple leaf in the middle....

we did arrange a trackday... but we could only afford the nelson track... nobody wants to commit the $$$ to rent the long track.... next year we will have to organize something for sure...

Do you know how much the long track is to rent. It would be awsome. The more people we get the less it would be for everyone. We don't want an overcrowded track but we would like enough to lessen the cost.

I'm down in New York until next May in school. If you're organizing a track day at Shannonville next year, I'm in. Also, considering we're talking about literbikes, I think that the long-track would be preferable. It's about $3500 CDN to rent. In order to reduce costs to around $100-150/person, you're looking at recruiting between 25-35 people. Not bad numbers for that circuit.

If you need a hand, let me know. It's almost time for the Canuck riders to hibernate:p

R1 flyer, is your bike the slower silver 1? The insurance company has offered me $6500, + my bike or $11000 buyout. Still haven't decided what to do, but if I buy it back I'm going to need some parts... - Top half of gauge cluster,( LED cover is cracked ) - Front upper fairing, ( part that windshield screws to ) ( scuffed/rashed is ok, but mine is missing chunks ) - Fairing stay - Another steering dampener ( bent ) - Right side driver's foot peg If anybody can help me out with some spare parts, pleeeease let me know asap! If you ask me, take the $11,000. No offence but your bike wasn't worth that much to begin with so that's a smokin deal. You could buy another one same year with a few mods that hasn't been wrecked for less than the $11,000.

Hey Highside. I saw a 2000 in autotrader for 6999. No damage. You should get that one and use your other bike for parts.

Nah N.B. cycle checked looks good, just a mark where the steering stop hit the flat on the neck. I was making a big deal out of it so the ins. would lower the buy back %. written off as excessive damage but not frame:D therefore not branded as irrepairable. Now any suggestions on colour? Highside, a color scheme that goes very well together is black/red/white. Maybe try black as a main color and then try and encorporate the canadian flag into it somehow. Should look amazing and original.

Actually I broke the bank today, and I'm getting Wade's custom to paint it met. silver to black fade. :p :p :p I'll post pics in a couple weeks.
