removing passenger pegs

i'm trying to remove the passenger pegs on my '07--anyone happen to know the size of the hex bolts holding the passenger pegs to the subframe? there's not a hex wrench included in the toolkit that fits.

Well there should be, if I was near my bike I would tell you which size, but the toolbag has all the tools in there to work on the bike. Maybe someone else can tell you the size.

I thought there should be one in the kit also...but there's 3 hex wrenches in my kit and none of them will fit the foot peg bolts.

Yea its a 5mm...

buy one that fits on the end of a extension arm of a socket rachet...and it works fine.

what do you have to remove to take the passenger pegs off on the 07?? I briefly looked at it the other and didnt wanna **** with anything or take anything off....

just push the clips aside and lift up the ecu...the peg bolts are underneath.

ok haha, i dont wanna **** anything up....how do i take the rider's seat off? it's really easy...i seriously doubt you'll mess anything up. The procedures to take off the rider's seat are actually in the owners manual. But there's 2 hex bolts holding the rear of the seat down..just peel back the seat and unscrew those bolts. After that you have to remove the ecu...it's held in by some plastic retainers...if I remember correctly...you have to undo 2 of them from under the tail section and 2 from under the seat. Then just disconnect the two wiring harnesses running to the ecu and it just pops right out--giving you access to the bolts holding the passenger pegs. It's a really simply procedure and once you do it once..you can do in again in about 2-4 minutes.
