Hi,
have a problem with clutch, pulling the cable slightly produces a high pitched scream which increases as cable is pulled further. Oil level appears OK. Would appreciate any help before dismantling.
thanks

jim 7george8 03-10-2007, 11:44 PM Y not u try apply some wd40 on ur cable entrance?? jimrich 03-13-2007, 03:24 PM Follow up to original post. Tried to remove clutch housing as the clutch does not now work. It appears the pull lever shaft and pull rod will not seperate, and therefore the clutch housing can not be removed. Is there a correct way to seperate?
regards mickr1 03-13-2007, 03:41 PM If you have removed the clutch cable from the release arm on the clutch cover and removed all the bolts the cover should come off quite easily. You may have to twist the release arm from side to side whilst wiggling the cover off. If the cover wont come apart at all then you can try tapping it gently with a rubber mallet around the edges, careful its only ally
:thumbup jimrich 03-14-2007, 01:16 PM thanks for response, took your advice and with the help of a piece of wood managed to free the clutch cover. Turns out the ring gear on the pull lever shaft was well mashed, and was stuck with the debris onto the pull lever. Don't know what caused this damage though.
