Alright lads...

I've only had the 05 a few weeks and had 2 occasions where it failed to fire up off the button.

Obviously because it's FI, i don't touch the throttle as you would with the old carb model, but just press/hold the starter button ?

If it doesn't fire in the first few seconds do you hold the starter usually ? or give it a few seconds and have a quick press again?

Bike has a Datatool system4 on it... which doens't inspire me from a draining of power perspective.

When it's been running etc, it starts perfectly, and does after standing 95% of the time... it's just the odd occasion.

Bike has bump started on a hill both times fairly easily.

Mine has 52 000 km on and does the same.will back fire while trying to start and some times the cluster will reset as if it is not getting enough voltage thru.
I think my problem is solved when I tried to solve my electrical intermittend snag with my headlights also working only some times.
behind the right hand side mid fairing is a big connector.I had an earth wire that was so far burnned that the plastic connector turned black already.
After repairing that I had no more bad starting problems.

Weird.. forgot all about this... not had it since this thread was posted.
