new owner '01 R1/ low miles/ noisy clutch

Hey gang, I'm a new '01 R1 owner,great bike.This is may be a newbie dumb question, but I have to ask. The bike has 2900 verified miles and I know the former owner, that I know of he never 'abused' the bike. Is a ratteling clutch sound common? The clutch has no other problems to speak of. Also I was told that a single year production had a bad/weak transmission,they couldn't tell me what year it was. Any takers? Thanks for your replies in advance,this is the most involved/up to date, site I've seen. I also have an '06 Busa,so I've looked at alot of bike sites.Also is a Yoshimura nozzel/jet kit a hot ticket? Hope so,got one on the way. Has anyone else used their system?

Yamaha sometimes rattle... its common.. if its loud or gets worse then I would worry.. For the exhuast/jetting it is a "hot ticket" (not sure if yoshi is the way to go) Ive seen huge gains from a full system + jetting (not personally.. dyno sheets of before and after + raves on the forum)
