Can anyone help,, Got a R1 2000. Problem is when starter pressed the start relay constantly buzzes and will not turn over. Also with the ignition on and the headlights switched to main beam, the clocks go of but the main beam is on.. Just fitted new battery.
Would appreciate any advice

Check the wirng harness connections , especially the big white one under the left fairing infill. These are known to get water in and corrode. Be careful when you disconnect this plug as if it is corroded the little pins have a tendency to snap off.

clean it up and apply some dielectric grease before reconnecting

I have that problem every once in a while.. just takes me 2 or 3 tries when it happens... doesnt bother me much.. im just glad the damn thing starts

Sounds like the battery is not fully charged.

stanmac did you ever solve your prob.

Had the same issue, found out after several months and a new battery that its the starter motor. check brushes as well as clearance on armature of starter as specified in owners manual
