98R1JOCKEY 03-22-2007, 03:40 PM After a head swap etc i managed to damage my rad(well my mechanic buddy say"s it was me!)so i got my hand"s on what was supposed to be a 98-99 radiator, unfortunately it turn"s out to be a 2000 model. It all line"s up and fit"s nicely with two small exception"s 1;no hole for the thermo switch2;no provision for the small earth strap. The first problem is simple(fit a switch, right?)that take"s care of the fan. What really concern"s me is the temp gauge refuses to work. The bike is on the dyno this saturday and i would prefer to have a working gauge for obvious reason"s.All i get is a low reading even when the bike is up to running temp. The earth strap has been moved to the side of the rad(expansion bottle bolt),i"m beginning to think i"ll be looking for yet another rad if i dont find a solution.
PLEASE HELP ME...........!

marcaztls 03-27-2007, 04:03 PM LOL I figure what's the point of going to sleep, I have to be up at 4.45am to go to Nottingham with Mike The Bike. Then I have to work late that night on Mick's nitrous R1 then get up at God know's when to go to Cardiff Thursday morning. Sod this for a laugh and a game of toy soldiers... There's got to be an easier way! :)

I have the perfect answer to your current employment woe"s my friend.
Get yourself a job in the roofing trade, cut your hour"s,up your money...oh yeah, find a good woman to buy you a ballistic missile and insist you keep your current bike so she can have her jolly"s,but only when you want to of course.God my life is lousy, dont know how i cope!!!:thumbup
marcaztls 03-27-2007, 04:17 PM I do, you look at mine and realise how good you've got it! LOL Karma mate... I'll get mine when it's due :)
On the plus side, I hope some of these extra quids are going towards the next Cadwell visit. You'll be on the flying banana then :thumbup
I had a thought about the bodywork on that, can't you just swap your red/white on to it to make it look the :boobies ?

I have given this some thought Mark....the bike will be back at the shop fairly early on friday, right?Sooooo i figure a once over to make sure it"s all good(hopefully) and take it with the other bike saturday and try it out for 1 or 2 session"s.After all i might not get to a circuit again for a few week"s and standing and staring at it would, sorry, will drive me crazy. What are your thought"s?:jump
marcaztls 03-27-2007, 04:41 PM :lol I was wondering how long it would take you to come up with that plan...
I'll do you a deal then, I'll check it over if I can have it back on Sunday to be center of attention at the workshop for the Easter Egg Run!
Good idea though, especially taking both. We would need to check it over though, just make sure stuff is safe etc. Plus if you have both there, see if matey will do you a deal for setting both bike's suspension up. I very much doubt the monster will be spot on for your weight as it is. Have a word with the guy and he'll be able to give you some good advice with it, he's a top bloke.

Your welcome to show the bike off on Sunday if that"s what you want mate,if it"s still in one piece!(joking!)To be honest mate i"m not really that interested in the red/white bike set-up(dont think it will do much more track time)because it will only get out with Fi on the back or tuesday"s etc.Really not very interested in riding on the road much especially now i have the yellow bike(costapacketto). Most of my finances will go into setting it up and mastering the thing.Really have a burning ambition to use it for exactly what it was built for.....:dollar
marcaztls 03-27-2007, 05:01 PM Excellent, attaboy! Makes sense to me with a tool like that. At least you know you'll have a spare motor and other parts one way or another should you need it/them.
Cool, what can I rob off your red/white bike? LOL
I'm going to bed mate, eyes are stinging like mad... Take it easy, speak to you soon :thumbup
