Howdy, just took my 07 out for a ride (its 1 week old) and the engine keeps dying if i let the revs drop (take off accelerator). It happened about 25 times just now, I came straight back home because i don't want to be stranded anywhere.

What i was doing to test it, was riding along in 5 or 6th gear and pull the clutch in and 70% of the time the revs needle just dropped straight to zero and the engine was dead :( so id'e cluth it to get it going, then ride along a bit then do the same(pull clutch in) then engine would die.

Sometime i would get a streak of 3 times where the revs stayed at 1k and engine obviously was alive.

Why would this be happening?

Also When I got home i kept i noticed a weird noise on right side of engine(back brake side) when I hold the clutch in, hard to explain but sounds like a soft electric continuous buzzing sound while the clutch is in. Is that normal?

Also as I was riding home I would hold clutch in and give it some quick revs and it sounded like some clunking sounds and a slight tug, like when you fish and something small bites. I got the feeling the clutch wasn't working well and every time I revved the gear was tugging a bit.

Also the oil is black (its done 870km i guess thats around 530 miles) is oil meant to be black like that? I was told to bring it back at 1,000km for its 1st service and oil change.

I think my bike is ****ed lol doesn't seem to healthy at all...

Any ideas people?

EDIT : I just took it for a quick 10 min ride to shops and back and tried to reproduce the engine cut out but it didn't do it. But it happened so many times from before i doubt it was a one off thing. I'll test it more tomorrow going to work and back..

Would a faulty clutch lock out switch cause this problem? Taking into account the strange buzzing sound coming from the clutch cable thing near the rear brake pedal. It buzzes when I hold the clutch in.

Can someone check their bike whether they hear a buzzing sound when the pull in the clutch?

-On the 07 I noticed the clutch seems to needs adjusting quite a bit. I bet you need to take some free play out at the lever and your clunk will go away.

-Break-oil from the factory will get black and nasty, this is normal.
