Hey guys, I have a 99 R1 and put new front pads an rotors on. I used DOT 4 brake fluid and bled the brakes. But after a few rides the brake lever is getting mushy and I have to pull it in waaay to far to slow down an stop. Any ideas? Different brake fluid? Just bleed it again? Thanks

Did you completely change the fluid ?? or just add DOT4 to what was in there ?? Prob just needs more bleeding

bleed again, make sure all the fittings are tight. I think the problem is that they weren't tight so there was a leak

you got air in the lines. Best bet, bleed them again and use a clear tube so you can see the bubbles. keep bleeding until there is no more bubbles in the clear tube.

besides bleeding again, remember, if you have the stock lines they will expand creating the feeling of mushy brakes. This also occurs when the weather is hot. I just recently changed to steel braided lines and it makes an extreme difference.....

Best thing you can do is replace your stock nipples with Speed Bleeders. 8mm x 1.25mm. Put on clear line, crack nipple and pump. Takes me all of 5 minutes to replace my brake fluid and you can remove a lot more air bubbles because of the speed of the fluid moving through your lines. I found mine on eBay though this guy:
