Gee wizzz !!! i'am more verticaly challanged than you are i'am all of 5'6" tall !!! and from what i can see same 01-R1 as mine and stock seat height is appox 32" and i have a 28" inseam and i can get one foot almost 3/4 of the way flat on the ground, i haven't had any problems with riding mine stock but if you feel the need to lower you can find lowering links(dog-bones)from several different places, check with the sponsors on the left if not let me know and i will find some links for you.

Cool thanks for the info... I wasn't able to find any for a 2001 R1. IF you could hook me up with a link that would be awesome. So no need to get like a coil0ver rear shock? Also how easy is it to install the "dog-bone" Can I do it myself in a garage..

Here's one I found: http://216.92.228.148/cgi-bin/parts/classifieds.cgi?db=motorcycles&website=&language=&session_key=&search_and_display_db_button=on&results_format=long&db_id=6377&query=retrieval There are also a bunch on eBay. If you get one, make sure you get one that's adjustable(threaded) because if you're like me, you'll only need to drop it an inch or so. Mark 99 R1
