Hey guys anybody else have a hard time shifting from 1st to 2nd under hard acellaration? When you let out the clutch its still in first. But riding around town and the bike kinda shift normal.Seems like the old Kawi trannies.A lurch when you put it in 1st.Any ideas?Down shifts at normal speeds are smooth, but under hard acellaration 9's or better it wont shift.

Yeah, I've had a bit of trouble making quick shits but I think its just that the lever needs to be adjusted to the right position for me. When I got the bike, the hand controls were all wrong for me. When I went to adjust them I found out they were pegged in place. Back in the day, when I was a wrench, a few Yamaha models were pegged and they were ALWAYS in the wrong place.
Anyway, I have trouble when I'm wearing street shoes but its worse when I've got my Sidi's on. It feels like the shifter pedal is up around the shoe laces instead of at the toes so it may be too short as well.

Are you using a full synthetic oil yet. I use castrol R4 and gear changes are almost unfeelable. Bottom end power seems to like it too.

Only have 350 miles on her so far. (and its snowing right now!) so I have a couple of break in oil changes to get through first. Oil could definitely be a contributing factor, thanx.

I've noticed my 06 shifting a little rough since i switched to mbile 1 m4 full sythetic. I haven't had much ride time since it has been in the high 30's the last couple of weeks in IL.
