Crankcase Numbers

i was wondering if anyone can identify a crankcase based on the numbers stamped on it. i ran into a guy who has a crankcase and he doesnt know if it is 2001 or a 2002. i need a 2001, but i cant find anyone who can identify it based on the numbers on the case. it would be easy if the head was there, but is has been taken already. the numbers are n504E-001106 on the crankcase.

i dont know but i do know that the numbers on the motor dont match the vin number so i whould think it will be hard to tell

those should be the mold casting no#s, the part no# for a 2001 crankcase is->5JJ-15100-01-00 which replaces (old no#)->5JJ-151-00-00, part no# for a 2002 crankcase is-->5PW-15100-00-00.

it doesnt matter, its the same crankcase from 98 to 03. the only changes were the tranny gearing after 99 and a deeper oil pan after 01. everything else is interchangable.
