First Thread - Who will take the championship?

OK, they listened and here it is...the WSBK section of the R1 forum. Awesome! So as this is the first thead I thought a poll to see who you guys consider to be the best bets for the championship this year would be in order. Personally I reckon Haga won't stay on the boil for the whole season and I also think that Corser will drop off the pace as the season progresses, Bayliss is always strong but his finger injury will hamper him for a coule of rounds during which JT and Max will put some points on him that he will find hard to regain. So for me it's JT and Max...hopefully JT... Then again you can never discount Nitro Nori and he would be a real fan favourite if he did win the crown... What d'yall think? Post 'em up. Here's my picks for top 5 at seasons end 1: JT 2: Max 3: Haga 4: Corser 5: Bayliss

Well, I must say Toesland is off to a great start with some bad luck on the second race last week. I think Max has a few tricks up his sleeve along with Corser. Never can tell about Haga. He reminds me of Disalvo in a way. So, my choice is 1. Corser 2. Max 3. J.T. 4. Haga 5. Bayliss

Interesting picks Skeeter. Corser sure is the old war horse isn't he?. You can't discount him and that's for sure AND he' definitley love to stick it to Suzuki after they fired him to give Max a ride...

I WANT Haga to finally win this year...but james Toseland looks very strong. Would also like to see Biaggi do well :riding

Haga definately deserves to win the championship, but Toseland looks way too strong this year to loose it......as a matter of fact, Toseland being kicked off Ducati may have been the best thing for him. He has never ridden better. Glad to see a World Superbike Thread. Here is how I think the top 5 will turn out in the end of the year. 1. Toseland 2. Bayliss 3. Biaggi 4. Haga 5. Corser

i think it will be closer this year than the last few, but i think jt or tb. cant pick atm.

Ah, the forum gods have heard our pleas! I vote for Toseland, although i would love to see Haga take it.

1 Toseland 2 Biaggi 3 Corsa 4 Bayliss 5 Haga It's a tough call but I have to go with that line up.

It is very hard to predict this year. If it weren't for Bayliss' injury, I would have picked him to win it. I think JT wants to show he deserves a GP ride, and I'm sure he would want to leave with a championship title.

I agree it would be hard to bet against Bayliss but even with his injury he was fast in qualifying for Valencia even though the race didn't pan out well for him. JT is really impressing me this year though, as is Haga. JT just seems so mentally tough and determined, Haga has smoothed out but is still fast and a hard man to pass. I think Corser is going to have a tough go of it really but what can you say about Biaggi? That second race at Valencia was absolutely phenomenal and he paid back Haga big time for Donnington.

At the beginning of the season I would have put my money on Bayliss, with Toseland close behind, but Nitro Nori has always been one of my favorites, and he seems to be on fire as of late. I hope he continues his form, and takes the title in the end! He definetly deserves this title. I think he kind of got f****d in 2000, or whichever year it was when they took points from him and Edwards ended up winning.

Poll results look likem they're echoing the points standings so far this season. Haga trailing JT ... but not by much!

And it seems like Haga is getting closer all the time! I know what my prediction was, but Haga is who I think NEEDS to win this championship more than any other. Glad to see he is going good.
