I just install new clutch fiber and steel plates, All oem yamaha. When I first started the bike the bike would not slip into gear without jumping forward and stalling due to engagement. After a few miles the problem fixed itself but......The downshifts are now clunky, alot more than they were, and at a stoplight I am completely unable to switch to nuetral from first it will jump first to second hard but not neutral. I have two questions 1: Is there a certain way the steel plates go in smooth side in or smooth side out? Out being towards the clutch cover 2:The boss plates and spring (little plates that go in before any others) how do they go in? I assume the flat plate first then the beveled plate but which direction does the OUTSIDE face? Out towards the clutch cover or towards the engine. Someone emailed me earlier this week but I lost the email SOrry Would these two issues cause my grabby clutch, I assume the clutch is grabbing and thats why I am shifting hard and can't shift into nuetral at idle. Or Will that go away through time? Thanks in advance for your help.

little springs that say outside faces out of motor.. so to the right of bike. steels do have way to go in.. but that wont effect anything. one side on top egde is sharp and other is rounded. i put sharp edge going out. if bike jumps.. u neeed to adjust level. its not pulling plates far enuff apart to release or go into neutral. at first they usually stick just a tad.. but thats it. adjust cable and should fixed it

Very cool thanks for the help. I tried to see it on the fish but it is not well defined. Last quetion, the barnett clutch packs state that thier fiber only need ten minutes of soaking, and any more is of no benefit. Does the same hold true for stock Clutch fibers, is the factory stating 24hours to be safe? Thanks again
