wow.. I saw the bike today at Eastside too.. it was still in a crate when I saw it though. did you see that brand new 'dropped' duc 999 back in the service area.? they told me this guy from a company which does motorcycle building for Eastside dropped it off a truck while moving bikes. supposed to be a brand new, now with $14,000 damage.. got a pair of BT012SS while there for $230. very satisfied with the price and quality of it.. :boobies :boobies first at university honda(i don't go there anymore), second at i-90 and now i am moving to Eastside for my main dealership.. everything feels better there.. service, price..

I suggest that with your newly acquired connectivity and desire to organize, you whip up some plans to hit the show as a group, and maybe pick a spot close to the show for us to BS about bikes and what-not after the show. I was talking to one of my bike friends, and he's saying parking at teh show is free if you come cage-less... likewise, that guy and 4-5 others are headed down to the show, so if we have some sort of group plans, i might clue them in if no one minds.

Sounds good, but realize that at the show it is much easier to move in small groups. Last year I was with six people and trying to keep everyone moving in one direction and interested in the same things was difficult, and I imagine that with a larger group it would be more so. That is why I'd rather head to the show together, bump into one another from time to time during the show, (and/or) then all reconvene after the show to swap stories. Besides no one wants to wait up for me and my girl while we tryout the seats on the Gold Wing. :makeout

I bought my tickets today for the show at I-90 motorsports and they were $2 off. I also got a chance to check out Yam's new snow mobile which was sick...If you're in Issaquah stop in and buy your tics for $8 and save yourself from standing in a line once you get to the convention center.

I am having a good holiday. I just bought a cbr600 set up for track days. I might do novice class this year for fun. I helped my buddy install his Graves slip on last night. We were going to ride today but it looks like the weather sucks:( The Graves sounds just like my Akra did, will get a report from him and I will let you know. By the way, the Hindle rocks :rock It is like a frickin pogo stick in first gear. I ordered a sprocket that should be here in a week or so. I am going down 1 in the front so it should be fun. He just wasn't feeling well, and decided since his cousin had a heart attack he better go get checked out. They sent him into the operating room right than and there. phew... :2bitchsla yup.. one of my budz took my bikes... he knew i was gone for the week and decided to take the bikes to his shop to do some work on em .. i neglected check my voice mail on my other cell.. PHEW!! I'm kinda happy he took the bikes tho... because i heard there was a nasty wind storm last week.. and thankfully they got shelter.. :yesnod but on the other hand.. he's still gonna die.. :machinegu that's great he decided to go to the docs... and find out what was wrong.. my grandma on the other hand.. lets no one know what's going on... she had 5 small strokes.. and no one knew.. she just kept going on her merry little way.. but this last one.. was huge.. and it happened at night.. she is getting better tho.. but as most of you know.. you can never fully recover from a stroke.. and since it was the left side of the brain.. it caused right side paralysis.. and she lost the ability to speak.. :( alright... ima head off to my buds place right now to kick his ass.. :thumbup

I hope that your grandmother pulls though too. I lost my grandfather in july because of a heart attack. He also had left paralysis he stuck it out for about a month or two but I did'nt get to go home until the funeral because of the military. He was already pretty bad off because of alheimzers anyways though.

2 things... i got my bikes back.. thank god!... :rock and my grandma isn't doing well.. at all.. she has bleeding in her brain (cranial bleeding) so it's pretty much downhill from here on out.. :( I guess it's better that it's quick rather than her holding on to no avail.. another great reminder to enjoy the time you have with your family as much as you can..

Hey, as of right now, I and another friend with a blue 02' are planning on going down to the convention. I hope to have at least a 2 bike trailer and I have a Dodge quad cab truck that can put another in the back. July is a long way from now like tidbit says, hopefully no changes though. Any takers on the convoy. I got the portable DVD to take to keep us entertained. Maybe we could put in Mach III and get down there a little faster :rock

My only concern about riding down is having to purchase another set of tires by the time I get down there. What do you think?

I agree about the tire issue specially if you want to get on the track day down there. My issue with riding is my ASS on the bike for 1200 miles from my place. Or sit my ass in my Suburban for 1200 miles. Tough choice.....NOT. Beside the tire's how about just the general wear and tear on your bike. I do oil every 1500 miles so add that to the cost of riding down.

i can see about reserving the jet.. and we can fly down... :yesnod :bs ima see about getting a trailer soon.. should be fairly large.. 6-8 bikes.. i know a few moto-X guys.. maybe we can jack their trailer.. :thumbup

Lot's of discussion on this however I won't do synthetic with a wet clutch, I was talking to some guys on a VFR list and with the extra slickness of Synthetic it was causing there clutch to slip. Me I love Castrol GTX 20-50. If it's good enough for Porsche it's good enough for me.

Sheeze, I don't stop by the site for a few days, and all hell breaks loose. ;) Tibit, glad to hear about the bikes, sad to hear about grams. I've added a couple more guys to our squadron (woo-hoo! we'll beat those east coast guys yet), and I've just been too lazy to update the logo. Shouldn't take me long, I just need to sit down and do it. I'll try to get it done Thursday, so that anyone who wants to get their stickers done, can. Patrick (Rated-R) said something about a ride tomorrow. I'll let you guys know when I hear more.

Just wondering I walked by my bike today and noticed rust on the chain is there something to clean it or keep it from spreading

NO_6 ... ride would be nice. =D I rode a 3rd gear standup wheelie across the entire I-90 bridge the other day.. hoping to give a repeat attempt soon. ZR1 ... you need to grease/wax/lube your chain every 500-600 miles to keep it both lubricated and to help avoid rust. if the bike sits outside every night it will probably get some surface rust no matter what you do (thx to the WA weather) but lubing is still important. I use bardahl chain wax which helps to seal the rings on the chain, but a lot of guys swear by WD-40. 02R1Phreak / ZR1 ... i think you just "ask" and you're basically "IN".. it's not like a super elite club, heh.

No kidding the weather up here sucks. I'm from the sunshine state. thanks for the help though I'm already using chain grease.

Apply a couple coats of WD-40.. let it sit for awhile.. if's it's surface greese.. the WD will break it up.. and after you get most of the rust off.. use yoiur chain lube.. I myself dont lube my chain... i just use WD-40.. although i have an o-ring chain :thumbup .. R1minger where do i pick it up? ;)

I wouldn't recommend the spray can option. How cheap we talking about here? Whats up? Glad to see alot of R-1's in the Pacific NW,I'll be there soon. Will be looking for a house over spring break, (around the Oak Harbor area) How can I git in to the Wolfpack? How often do you get together fro rides and stuff? Any suggestions about where to ride around Oak Harbor I have never been there, since I will be there in April I might as well see what the riding conditions are like. Pacific Raceways is the local racetrack, unfortunely, it is about 1.75-2 hours south of you. Most of Whidby Island is wide open. I would suggest a ride south, towards Clinton (about an hour south), but then turn towards Langley. Lots of nice lonely roads out thataways. Be careful, though, the small town cops have nothing better to do than pull peeps over for no reason at all, let alone speeding. BTW, I added you to the "Pack."

There is a great Mexican restaurant near there that I would recommend if I could remember the name. A friend and I were motoring back toward Seattle along I-20 near Langley where we encountered a cop coming the opposite direction who apparently wasn't impressed with a few of the things we were doing. The chase was on! To make a short chase shorter, we hid our bikes behind this restaurant and had some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. :yesnod

I got a question for this summer.... even tho that's a hell of a long ways away.. :yesnod Any guys (or gals) wanna take a track class this summer?.. There is one that i saw at the SEA Bike Show... and it looked sweeeeet :D . It's actually a "class". I'm not going to go for a trackday untill i get more experiance with my bike. Don't want ELITE mofo's rubbin fairings with me just to make me shit in my pants. :no This class actually teaches you about turns and whatnot.. IMO if you can retake the same turn over and over that's the only way you can improve. I think it's 160 for members and 225 for non /d.. (60/y membership). The track times are like 9-5. Skill levels are beg, int, adv If some more ppl actually want to do this.. I might actually get off my ass and get a 748 race prepped.. :thumbup

Yeah I know, but it is the earliest one I can attend and the weather over there is better. I should have a trailer by than and I actually am going to attend the novice racer school at Pacific Raceways(still SIR to me) I bought a 97' cbr F3 to learn on. That is going to feel real slow after a year on the r1 but I think it will be a more forgiving bike for someone just starting Which school were you talking about? :cool:

I am pretty picky about that. I need to ride with someone for awhile and see there skills before I let them take it out I will tell you this, nothing else makes you feel more confident then a Duc :D

I don't know what it is about the Duc......but it feels so good thru the 100+ corners it is unbelievable. something about it, every nut and bolt feels like it is tightened that extra little bit. You can't compare the gearbox between a Jap bike and the Duc :rock

only thing i hate about the duc.. the body panels are EXXXXPENSSSSIVVVEEEE and pretty shitty.. when i get mine.. i'll replace with race plastics.. :fact .. have you done any modz to the 748? i swear.. i'll get a damper this month.. one of my budz 0wez me a ton of money.. :yesnod i shal collect ;)

tidbit, Do you need a stock set of passenger pegs for your R-1. I just installed a Hindle SS High mount and have to get a hanger from Hindle to re-mount my passenger pegs and the stock pegs will not work with the hanger (so I've been told).. Another excuse to buy more SHEE-AT for my bike. If you want them pay for the S&H and their yours.

Kai, you are certainly the most industrious of the "Pack!" I don't see where you find the energy to do all that stuff to your ride. As far as the Corbin seat goes, I'd have to say:no as it doesn't look like it changes the seat height at all, or lowers it in the back. Besides, taking the seat up to the place and having it re-done is about $100 cheaper... and I like the idea of a totally custom job. I may go up there tomorrow during lunch to see what they say.
