Rode the yz450 to work today!

Ok, today was the real first test of riding the yz450 on the street. I was quite surprised at how well it did! I put a 37 rear tooth sprocket on it, some bicycle lights for front and rear running lights, and zip tied the tag on and away I went. I saw a few cops and no issues. I need a better mount for the tag though...it was moving around quite a bit. The gearing may have be a tad tall but it still would power wheelie in 1st and 2nd gear easily! and cruising at about 60-65 was pretty nice...for being on a dirtbike:lol Riding this bike at the gap is going to be insane! I can't wait:rock :riding

why didnt you get a wr if your gona ride on the road? because I wanted a real racebike:D actually I wasn't looking for either, I was going to get a Husky smr 510 that is street legal. I came across a really nice deal on an 06 yz450 already converted, plus with all hte mx stuff too. So I got it. Riding it on the street is not the primary function for this bike...I just wanted to have it as an option. I have a super cool supermoto track about 35 minutes from my house. If we ever get some supermoto racing going here in GA then I plan on doing some racing on it.

Man you guys are making me miss my YZ450 now..... Rode mine on the street on time following Five Oh, had on my full leathers as usual and not tag, light or anything of that nature. Just hallin ballz around town and then went to bike night. Didn't have any cop issues, figured I would just dip off road and through places a car couldn't go if I had to. Bike almost kept up with five oh, but a little slippery on the street with the nobbies........was fun as hell, wanted to get it set up for moto, but we used it for flat track practice around my house, just to stay in shape for the R1's.

I noticed that right off. i really like it & hope to have some pics up next week of mine. it is a brembo master. I like it a LOT!! holy cow it stops good! they are not all that expensive either. If I remember right it was under 300 bucks.

:thumbup Chad, you need to come up with a better light solution otherwise they could hit you up with it not being legal. I've seen units somewhere that replace the front plate and are very easy to take on and off.

Yeah I may get stopped at some point, but until then I am staying with what I have. I don't ride this bike that much on the street and I want to be able to quickly have it ready for the track.....Like I did today:riding If they give me crap I will just get a brighter light...they make realy really bright bicycle lights.

I hear ya. I've got an older light unit for my bike that's pretty bright. :thumbup

I just got the wr done today. It still needs mirrors,horn & my trail tech vapor but its in running shape now.Ill post pics tomorrow.

There's an '05 WR-450 for sale here in like new condition. Guy's asking just under $4K for it. Wish I had the money, because I'd probably turn that into a motard.
