So friday night I went out to Mid America Motorplex in Iowa and took the 06 R1. I've only been to the track one other time (on my R6 two years ago). I had a blast. My best was only a 7.01, but I stayed consistent (7.03,7.05,7.10). I really wanted to dip into the 6's, but it just wasnt happening for me and my reaction time.
I had one mishap launching against a pro-drag guy w/a 82 Kawi w/wheelie bars. I tried launching too high and about flipped at launch, he red-lighted though so I let off and rode about half way down the track in first then rode the rest of the way in a power wheelie (haha i know, but it was for my buddies watching).

Ne wayz, my favorite was racing an 02 Busa, he kept talking about how he goes twice a month for the last 4 years and runs 6.3-6.5 average. I ran my 7.01 and he red-lighted and still only ran a 7.3. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Damn busa's. All in all though I had a blast and my dad and brother's enjoyed watching me. You learn alot about your bike from drag racing (IMO) and I cant wait to go again.

Nice. I used to run 6.4'd on my stock wheelbase Busa and i run 6.9's on my 06 FZ1 stock wheelbase...

I went to the 1/8 for the first time on my 03 R1. Fastest time was 6.8 My friend got it at 6.5 Changed up the exhaust and got a map for it. Going on friday to track. Hopefully times come down.

reaction time wont effect ur ET at all.. just matters in heads up race or bracket racing. keep after it.. it will get better

The Katana was'nt stk motored was it? If so, did it have bars?
