Was just about to ceramic coat my pipes & Cat, but someone told me that there will be a loss of power if the cat is removed?
Can anyone verify this?

Can anyone verify this? ROD FIORE 04-26-2007, 03:19 PM Not a problem for me, no cat no exup smog block offs it pops a little on deceleration. Wheat 04-26-2007, 03:21 PM Well this is the 07 section. No power will be gained or lost by removing the Converters. ralphael 04-26-2007, 03:24 PM rod what pipes did you use to replace the cat? that makes sense... Mark_Z28 04-26-2007, 10:24 PM You possibly will make a little more power on the top end if the cats are anywhere near as restrictive as an automtive style cat. From what few pictures I have seen of the guts of a R1 cat they dont look too bad. The holes through the cat material look bigger than the ones in a monolith cat in a car. It will make your exhaust run a lot cooler past the cat also so you wont broil your ass or nuts as much. stap71 04-27-2007, 10:57 PM will guttin the cat change the torque range.....Dont need to loose any more low end? Wheat 04-27-2007, 11:03 PM Guys, Read the titles of threads and what year before asking questions. Next, learn to use the Search button for goodness sakes.

Shouldnt since theres not much flow at lower rpms anyway, doubt the cats even affect the power in the lower ranges. | |
