what would you guys say is normal temp while running in city traffic...
not gridlock but you know a bit of stop and go, 30 mph etc..

yesterday my 07 R1 started running at 232 and my left leg started to burn a bit, i don't know if the fact she is not broken
in yet has anything to do with it, still under the 600 miles.

The 07 R1 runs a bit warm. I would check your antifreeze. My 07 was at the minimum mark so I added some to bring it up to the maximum level. As long as the temp light does not come on then you should be ok. Your leg is a different story.

I was wondering about my 06 as well. When I get off the highway, I always get caught at a light or two and my bike temp quickly shoots up to 223f before the fans kick on.

I hear you guys, it makes you think but i mean in the book it says that those are all normal operating temperatures. basically if the light comes on something is wrong. my 07 R1 has 117 miles on it and i have driving it around town cuz of the stop and go, it will go right up to 223 kick on the fan and back down to 208 then right up again... but my R6 was like that too so.. shes basically saying open me up and stop pussy footin around :thumbup

I talked to my dealer, which told me the R1 will run hot to 220 plus around town
yea the heat coming from the ducts are hitting the legs as well. Gets toasty :nopity: just go faster

these bikes are like sharks, they canīt stay put for long, they need to be in constant movement to keep the flow going so they donīt get hot....

but hey, you guys wanted a HOT BIKE right lol:thumbup

Yea, my bike seems to be always in the 220+ in the city. If im sitting around then it will hit the 230+ when i shut off it reaches 240's. Seems to be normal. But ima try running engine ice in it in a couple days. and hopefully get a new Y pipe soon as well.

Its real fun sitting at a stop light when the fans kick in, gives my legs the turbo boost of heat.

Wheat and I were being serious when we said gut the cats and run distilled water and water wetter. It really makes a big difference. If you have an 07 and don't like your legs burning this is a must mod. It is not difficult and the "how to" is simple to follow if you want to do it yourself or if you want to have someone else do it for you. :horse:

In town going stop light to stop light 224 degrees then fans kick on. Out of town about 160-185.

I agree with you guys that gutting the cats and running Water Wetter with distilled water will help drop temp some overall, but if your in town going light to light on a hot day the fans are still going to kick on no matter what you do.

Cats have been gutted, a long time ago and I'm going to be puttin ol' Engine Ice in once the "fix" is put in. Oh, it reached 243 last week after I had been riding next to the ocean, which was a nice COOL breeze and then stopped. My buddies 07, Graves catless-back, PC3, Ignition Mod and tunem, reached 239. This was riding for a few miles at ~30 mph. My 04 ran much cooler on just plain ol' antifreeze.

I put in Engine ICE this weekend and I very happy with the results. I noticed an average of 5-10 degress Celsius less then before and less then my friends bike. Checking each others temp 6 different times. (he has same bike and we doing same speed)

I noticed a 5-10 average drop in temps when I did the first oil change and switched to synthetic oil. I've been wanting to try the engine ice in it. Guess I will get around to it when I do the AIS removal.
