I'm currently running the new Dunlop Qualifiers. Great tire, sticky, leans well. Only problem is they are very short lived. I'll be lucky to get 3k out of them. Anyone else running these tires? What sort of mileage are you getting?

Depends on the type of riding. I never liked the tire personaly, though not for wear times. Are you air pressures set correctly? Suspension set correctly?

I'm running 34/38 psi front/rear. Suspension is setup pretty good. I think it's just the tire being really soft. My buddy on a busa got a set the same week I did and his lasted a grand total of 2300~ miles heh. I've never tried Pilot Powers but I may if I can get 5k'ish out of those.

Off the top of my head, I'm not sure what the tire pressures shoudl be set at. I don't know of many people that are getting 5kish out of any tire though...

PP's 32/34 suspension set @ 190 lbs. depending on moods I can get 4000ish out of them.

It all depends on how you ride. I have seen guys go through a set of tires in 1500-2000 or a month and a half to two months. On the other hand I have seen guys on the same tires go 3 years and 5000 miles. Plus the R1 eats rear tires. If you want miles go with a sport touring tire, if you want sport tires you aren't going to get alot miles out of them.

The only way you will get 5000 miles out of a set of sport tires on an R1 is if you ride it like a grandma. 2000-3000 miles is pretty standard for people who have fun with their bike. Just learn to accept the cost of tires as part of the cost of riding an awesome bike.

Off the top of my head, I'm not sure what the tire pressures shoudl be set at. I don't know of many people that are getting 5kish out of any tire though... I got 8,000 miles(rear) and 9,500(front) out of my first set of PP's and that's actual mileage cause I've got a Yellow Box. Of course, I'm a lightweight at 140 lbs. Don't think I'll be switching any time soon! Mark 99 R1
