: Chinese bodywork on eBay?

Okay, so I need some plastics. I don't NEED a full set, but it would solve a lot of problems.

I troll eBay occasionally and stumbled upon several folks in China (specifically Hong Kong) who are selling knock-off plastics for several sport bikes including the R1. To their credit they are not claiming to sell factory fit parts, but that scares me a bit too.

The price is very right for these things and I kind of like the MotoGP paint jobs too.

My question: has anybody tried a set of these yet? Did they fit? Are they falling off yet? I would greatly appreciate any feedback you could give me before I invest somewhere around $600 for a set of these things.

Here's a link to an example of what I am talking about:

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

They fit okay, some fitment issues such as holes and gaps. Paint is okay quality and they tend to be heavier then OEM due to they are abs plastic which would also make them a touch more susceptible to cracking if dumped.

Installed a set on an 05 GSXR...heres what I have to say:

1) SUper fast shipping, I had them in 2 days from Hong Kong
2) The paint is ok. The clear coat had runs in it and it was a little rough at corners and edges.
3) They clear coated right over the decals...sucks if you want to alter.
4) The fit is a little off but overall not that bad.
5) Make sure you have files...your gonna need them along with patience.
6) Fasteners are different in some instances....will need to buy new hardware for some parts...not a real big deal.

Overall, for the money, they are great to just get your bike back together if you are not a perfection freak.

Thanks much for the information guys.

I'll probably go with this route to get mine back in shape. I'm not entering any shows or anything so this should be a good option. I'll let you know how it goes and post up a report of my own when it happens.

Thanks again!
