I'm in the process of removing the stock lowering link.

I have the lowering fairing removed. took out the front bolt of the stock link then tried to remove the rear but the bolt is being blocked from being removed by the rear swing arm/frame. What do i have to loosen /remove in order to get this thing out???

I tried removed the top bolt of the triangle peice ( sorry don't know its name) but it seems like the bolt can't be removed? I mean i took out the nut but the bolt won't budge? Please help as my bike is being held up by my roof support atm and need help ASAP..

THanks in advance...

I just dealt with that on Sunday myself. Its a real bear. I used a large 1/2 in drive with a good 6 point 14mm socket and a 6 inch extension from the rider's right side. On the rider's left, I put an 8mm (I think) Allen socket on a "T" handle with the handle slid all the way to one side so it touches off on the bike when the the bolts spins. Just put some grunt into it and it will let go. (please don't be insulted but make sure you are turning it the right way ;) ) This worked for me.

I tried a 1/2 inch air impact gun but that didn't work!

what t handle and you talking about? are you refering to the top bolt of the triangle where on the driver's left side its where the chain is at? what are you using the 8mm for? both sides of the bolt are 14mm? I'm took the nut off on the drivers side but the main bolt on the drivers left where it comes out of the hole where the chain is at is still stuck in there?

righty tighty, lefty loosy right???? i tried turning it left but it seems to just spin in place?!?!?!?

please help

First off you need to have the back of the bike off the ground and supported by something other than the swingarm. With that done, once you have the nut off use one hand to pull on the bolt while lifting slightly on the swing arm to take the pressure off the linkage. It should slide right out. But becareful once you have that bolt out that you dont just drop the swing arm.

Glad you said it Comp... I almost responded earlier, because if the bike isn't properly supported, BAD THINGS (TM) will happen when you knock one of those bolts out of the triangle.

suggetsion or probably a pic would be great on how to support the bike other that the swingarm to remove the stock bolt to install the lowering link

If you have fixed rear sets(aftermarket) you can put jackstands under the rear sets. Otherwise you will need to take the plastic off the tails and hang the bike by the subframe. Put the straps around the subframe as close to the main frame as possible and make sure they cant slide backwards down the tail.
