can any body help me with my gilles rearsets,i have fitted them on my r1 07 and im having a problem with the rear brake, well the master cylinder allignment the brake seems to stick on after a little use, when you look at the piston on the cylinder which attaches to the gilles brake lever it looks out of line yet there is no adjustment on the rearsets for this as they only pivot and slide.has anybody else come across this or has anybody fitted any to a 07 r1 as its doing my head in!!!!!!!

Hi, fitted these to mine 4-weeks ago and have had no trouble. If you are talking about the connection from the lever to the cylinder this uses the stock oem part and with mine it's perfectly aligned. You sure it's not gotten bent somehow? Ride Safe. Blaggie.

I just put on my VCR's this past weekend.
It almost sounds like you may have overtightened a bit. If it looks out of line, something may be just slightly off from the proper position, may want to loosen some bolts and try to wiggle a bit. I had a pain getting the brake light to activate and it ended up being that it was just milimeters off.

Does your rearset look like this after the installation, minus the missing bolt for the brake cylinder and Rizoma reservoir?

You can adjust the length of the brake cylinder piston. Loosen the green nut and twist the silver latch accordingly. You can also adjust the height of the brake lever by loosening the allen bolt right above the foot peg. The guys at Gilles are geniouses!

after fitting these rearsets on my bike I had to loosen the pushrod of the brake cylinder a little bit, because it was set too long and there was pressure on the brake all the time.

hi supertwin i think that was the problem on mine because the back brake was locking on and when my yamaha dealer took it apart he must have done this aswell.at least if anybody else has a problem this info will help them sort it out
