I put one on the 03 I used to have. Install was ok. Remote was good at best-had less range with buildings interference. proximity alarm seemed the best feature to keep the kids and looki-loos from touching the bike. The remote needed a fresh battery every 90days. Duracell was best. After like 7days on - the alarm dropped down to standby and would not trip the proxitmity - a battery saving feature I guess. I would just cycle the alarm on and off each week. I recommend a battery tender for any long term storage. Nowdays you have a choice of LOJACK as well. My advice is to keep the arrival/departure action on the down low so as not to attract the badguy attention...and cablelock to structure/D-ring...and cover the chrome/purple paint with a plain bike cover. The pros are gonna get it one way or the other so keep a good insurance policy. *The 03 was stolen. in Feb 06...had all the above in place. -But I was working late/overtime to get some extra trackday money...YOU are the only one who will make an effort to stop a thief. They can sit accross the street and plan the easiest take... *********) (************************** % <----kick here

ditto on the perimeter sensor making the scorpio alarm worth it. keeps people away. plus the new remote is rechargable so you never have to worry about the batteries. nothing is gonna stop thieves from picking your bike up and tossing it in a van, but this at least will give you some peace of mind to know when it happens. plus it keeps people from sitting their kids on your bike at the mall..

I installed mine (after someone stole my steering damper) and it works really well. It has a perimeter sensor, which is handy if you don't want anyone even near your bike when you're not around. The manual says the remote pager-type system works up to 800m away (unimpeded line-of-sight i'm assuming), but the maximum I got was 300m away sitting at my desk in the office whilst the bike was parked in the parking lot. Definitely worth the dollars in my opinion.

ive got the same reviews as everyboidy else basically i had it on my tlr and 2 times th would be thieves were deterred. one because of the proximity sensor not letting them get closer than 5 feet to the bike and the other (after my sensor got ripped off because it fell through the undertail and got caught in the wheel or chain) when they started to move it off my front porch and i ran out just in time to hear wheels screaching. definately get it. well worth the money.

I've been considering a good alarm system. How much do these relatively go for? How difficult is the installation? Or would you suggest that it should be done professionally?

The scorpio alarm works good to keep a thief from even getting the chance to get close enough...... but like you guys said if they really know what they are doing the bike is gone no matter what u have.... Lo jack is a good investment even tho its expensive.... I got Lojacks early warning system from the dealer and it works awsome.... If the bike moves farther than 25 feet from the lo jack key pass they call within 10 minutes to warn you the bike is being moved...... Which works great when ur at work or out away from your bike..... It wont stop calling till you pick up the call and confirm that the bike is ok..... might want to keep that in mind since insurance policy's are way too expensive.....

I just installed mine today - the perimeter sensor is my favorite feature. The tilt and shock sensors are nice too. I have the ignition kill as well, so at least someone wont ride off with it (although the back of a pickup or van can always happen). Not hard to do, took about 30-45 minutes (took a while to find the right ignition wire as I am not real mechanically inclined). In testing everything worked perfectly, let's just hope it never has to be used for real. And I feel better having it.

Amazing alarm, it never failed me and it kept many away. I agree with the rest that the perimeter sensor makes it all worth it. p.s. I have one for sale in the sale section ha

I put a i300 with the perimeter system does its job, it's not going to stop a flat bed, but come on what do you expect.

hello people I just got it and I am ready to install it. However, I am not sure where and which wire sure I use for the ignition cut option. Any suggestions? Also, where should I put the main module? I got the 2007 R1 and I am worried if I put it under the seat the pipes may cause damage. thanks for your advise
